JUNCTION 36 ART FAIR

9–11 October 2026 · J36 Exhibition Hall

Art inspired by place. Made by people who live it.

Junction 36 Art Fair

MORE THAN A VIEW

Discover an inspiring showcase of more than 60 artists, makers, galleries and creative organisations from Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales.

From expressive landscapes and original prints to sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography and contemporary painting, Junction 36 Art Fair brings together an extraordinary range of creative voices—each with their own way of seeing, making and responding to the world around them.

Come and discover what inspires them.

For some artists, it is the drama of the fells, the shifting light across Morecambe Bay or the wild coastline of Scotland.

For others, it is folklore, memory, wildlife, architecture, colour, materials or the simple act of walking through a familiar landscape and noticing something new.

Some work directly from observation. Some transform photographs and sketches. Others begin with memory, imagination or an unexpected mark.

What connects them is a powerful sense of place, and a desire to share something of their experience with you.

MORE THAN A VIEW

Landscape can be a memory

A feeling

A journey

A story

A moment of light

A connection with nature

Across the fair, you'll find artists interpreting the landscapes of the North in very different ways. Some capture their physical beauty; others explore their atmosphere, history, mystery or emotional impact.

Look closely and you'll discover that there is no single way to see the landscape.

MEET THE MAKERS

Junction 36 is about more than finished artwork.

Meet artists and makers who paint, print, carve, stitch, photograph, sculpt and experiment with materials. Discover the processes behind their work and the stories that brought each piece into being.

You'll find established artists alongside emerging voices, individual practitioners alongside creative collectives, and galleries representing some of the region's most exciting talent.

Whether you already collect art or are simply curious to discover something new, there's plenty to explore.

SOMETHING FOR EVERY KIND OF COLLECTOR

Perhaps you're looking for a painting that brings back the feeling of a favourite place.

A print with a story behind it.

A piece of sculpture for the garden.

Something colourful to transform a room.

A handmade object that makes the perfect gift.

Or perhaps you're simply looking for something that stops you in your tracks.

Take your time. Look closely. Talk to the artists.

You never know what you'll discover.

WHY JUNCTION 36?

Because some of the most interesting art is being made right here in the North.

Junction 36 Art Fair brings this creative community together in one place, giving you the opportunity to discover artists from across Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales, many of whom draw directly on the landscapes, communities and experiences of the region.

It's a chance to see familiar places through unfamiliar eyes.

And perhaps to find a piece that feels uniquely yours.
