Hiding in the Gorse i & ii – Contemporary Original Art
This is a diptych taken from one piece of art done whilst thinking about the time when I was out drawing on Dartmoor.
It was summertime and the heat was so intense that I had to hide under a gorse bush.
Every brushstroke is a decision to stay bold, to choose courage over perfection.
I don’t plan my landscapes. They reveal themselves, wild and untamed.
My process begins with immersion in the landscape, walking, observing, and sketching to absorb the textures, rhythms, and expansiveness of the natural world. I’m less interested in literal representation and more in capturing the feeling of wildness and freedom that the land holds.
Mixed media on paper.
Each artwork is 15.75″ x 15.75″ ( 40cm x 40cm)
230gsm paper
Each artwork is framed with a grey wooden frame.
