Six Paintings at Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw

I’m delighted to have six paintings showing this summer at Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw, the beautiful gallery set in Victorian parkland above Llanbedrog on the Llŷn Peninsula.

The exhibition opens on 22nd July 2026, with a Meet the Artists evening from 4pm to 6pm, and runs until 4th October 2026.

The paintings on show, No Permission Needed, Wild Coastline, Sea Edge, Unshaken Water, Enough As I Am and Room to Be, sit together as a small body of work about women who refuse to be confined. I use landscape as metaphor here: wild coastline, restless water, open shoreline standing in for the wildness, boldness and freedom I want to explore. Each piece grew out of walking, looking and sketching along the coast, then reworking that experience in the studio through layered brushwork and bold colour, letting tension and rawness stay on the canvas rather than smoothing them away.

It feels right that these six should be shown together in Wales, in a gallery with such a strong connection to landscape and place.
